Amazing Blue Holes in Bahamas

These submarine caves, also called vertical caves, located in the Bahamas are amazingly beautiful. Too bad they are so dangerous to explore, because they would make perfect diving spots. I would have loved to dive in these caves but I guess I’ll have to leave it to professional divers…

The Perfect Moment to Make a Powerful Photo

When you got a good camera it is not so hard to make a good photos, but there are few of the people who I know who just don’t have that touch and are pretty bad in what they are doing no matter what camera they have. The photos are always the same. To have an eye for details and make everything look beautiful and powerful is not an easy task. It takes a lot of time and patient to make the magic. The beauty of macro photos will always amaze me as well as this photos which are made just at the perfect time, it is also all about the perfect moment.

Amazing Hummingbird

Hummingbirds are birds comprising the family Trochilidae. They are among the smallest of birds, and include the smallest extant bird species, the Bee Hummingbirds. They can hover in mid-air by rapidly flapping their wings 12–90 times per second (depending on the species). They can also fly backwards, and are the only group of birds able to do so. Their English name derives from the characteristic hum made by their rapid wing beats. They can fly at speeds exceeding 15 m/s (54 km/h, 34 mi/h).
Hummingbird flight has been studied intensively from an aerodynamic perspective using wind tunnels and high-speed video cameras.
Writing in Nature, the biomechanist Douglas Warrick and coworkers studied the Rufous Hummingbird, Selasphorus rufus, in a wind tunnel using particle image velocimetry techniques and investigated the lift generated on the bird’s upstroke and down-stroke. They concluded that their subjects produced 75% of their weight support during the down-stroke and 25% during the upstroke. Many earlier studies had assumed (implicitly or explicitly) that lift was generated equally during the two phases of the wing-beat cycle, as is the case of insects of a similar size. This finding shows that hummingbirds’ hovering is similar to, but distinct from, that of hovering insects such as the hawk moths.
The Giant Hummingbird’s wings beat at 8–10 beats per second, the wings of medium-sized hummingbirds beat about 20–25 beats per second and the smallest can reach 100 beats per second during courtship displays.

Amazing Mammal – Pangolin

A pangolin, also scaly anteater or tenggiling, is a mammal of the order Pholidota. There is only one extant family (Manidae) and one genus (Manis) of pangolins, comprising eight species. There are also a number of extinct taxa. Pangolins have large keratin scales covering their skin and are the only mammals with this adaptation. They are found in tropical regions of Africa and Asia. The name “pangolin” derives from the Malay word pengguling (“something that rolls up”). Pangolins are nocturnal animals, and use their well-developed sense of smell to find insects. The long-tailed pangolin is also active by day. Pangolins spend most of the daytime sleeping, curled up into a ball.

Pangolins were classified with various other orders, for example Xenarthra, which includes the ordinary anteaters, sloths, and the similar-looking armadillos. But newer genetic evidence indicates that their closest living relatives are the Carnivora, with which they form the clade Ferae. Some paleontologists have classified the pangolins in the order Cimolesta, together with several extinct groups.

It Counts The One Who Raises You

This is the sentence that I am sure most of you have heard: It doesn’t matter who your biological parents are it counts the one who raises you. In most of the cases that is true, but in the animal world I am not sure how that works out at the end. This looks pretty interesting now, but how will this adopted child behave when it gets older it is left to see. This looks so unreal almost like a fairy tale, I think that even Disney couldn’t match this photos. Is this chimp grown up to this challenge to be a surrogate mum to this cub?

Scary Greenland Fishes

These odd sea fishes can be find in Greenland waters. Scientist was truly impressed when they found this weird sea species. I believe than non of you including me would never go on swimming in this waters :)

Giraffes First Steps

Groovy Little Gorilla

This offspring looks a little bit funky if you ask me, but still very, very cute. No mater how her child looks like and if he doesn’t look like the other children do, his mother loves him. He is the best looking little gorilla. This is what it means to be the best looking guy in the class.
